ferdiOS closes €80 funding round, enters well-capitalized era

A regional venture fund has taken a position in the Linux mobile space, handing the ferdiOS project an one-time 80 EUR war chest that leadership describes as "transformational".

ferdiOS confirmed Tuesday that it has closed an €80 round, its first outside capital of any kind. The cash injection took place on Monday, and was promptly converted into a Claude subscription - the entire deployment of proceeds.

Deal terms

Line item Amount
Gross raise €80.00
Net proceeds €80.00
Claude Pro runway (at burn rate) 4 months

The fund has taken no equity and holds no board seat.

The fund

Asked what it looks for in a company, the fund’s general partner, who took our call from a morning yoga mobility session, said:

We invest in frontier technology. We do not know what ferdiOS is, and we have decided that this is what being early feels like.

Asked to elaborate, they added: “We operate mainly on vibes. There will be a day when every person owns a smartphone. We want to stay ahead of the curve and have a foothold in this exciting new industry”.

Stakeholder alignment

Sander Ferdinand, Benevolent Dictator for Life, said:

Eighty euros is a lot of money. Our stakeholders - the fund, one QA tester, and a foreign threat actor who stole our codebase through corporate espionage - are aligned around a single mission: get ferdiOS onto at least one phone that is not owned by someone we know.

The balance sheet now reads €0.00 - a figure leadership characterizes as a success.
